4. Follow and record

Complete the checks before recording physical work. Follow steps in order.

  1. Identify the insert

On the cool detached filter, locate the small pull tab shown in figure22. Record whether you are cleaning the one-cup or two-cup ground-coffee filter.

Look for: The insert and its tab match the manual; a different basket stays intact.

    Manual: p10 §11.2; p6 §1.3
  2. Lift by the tab

Pull the tab to lift out the perforated insert. Set the holder and filter on a clean surface without levering the metal.

Look for: The removable insert comes out by its documented tab. Stop if it is stuck or damaged.

    Manual: p10 §11.2 step1; fig22
  3. Rinse both filter pieces

Rinse the insert and filter under running water. Look at the perforations and the small hole on the back of the filter.

Look for: Water clears loose coffee residue; the rear outlet is visible.

    Manual: p10 §11.2 steps2–3; figs23–24
  4. Clear only the indicated holes

If a documented hole remains blocked, clear it carefully with a pin and rinse again. Do not enlarge holes or scrape other metal surfaces.

Look for: The holes are open without visible damage; a damaged filter requires the matching replacement.

    Manual: p10 §11.2 step3; fig24; §11 cleaning cautions
  5. Dry and seat the insert

Wipe the pieces dry with a cloth. Put the perforated insert back into its seat and press it all the way down.

Look for: The insert is present and fully seated, with no loose edge.

    Manual: p10 §11.2 steps4–5
  6. Record the cleaning interval

Record today’s clean. After each later use, rinse the filter under plenty of running water and press the insert to check its seating. Repeat this deeper clean when residue remains or at least monthly.

Look for: The next action is chosen from the filter’s condition and the manual’s monthly minimum.

    Manual: p10 §11.2

5. Keep your result

Record what you observed. A completed checklist does not certify that equipment is repaired.

When to check again

After each coffee; residue remains; monthly deep clean is due.

Rinse after each use. Remove and deep-clean the tabbed insert if still dirty and at least once a month.
