1. Match the model and parts

Read SV10 on the machine label and compare your parts with manual 229602-01. Filter A has a small pinch handle; Filter B twists off the rear. A star-shaped top is a different version. Confirm the dry motorized head in this manual before following a brush task.

Region: US

Parts: Pinch-handle Filter A and twist-off Filter B; original dry motorized head

Is the charger disconnected, the machine cool and undamaged, and your hand away from the trigger?

  • Yes — Continue with the matching parts and the checks below.
  • No — Stop for a damaged charger, burning smell, liquid exposure, a swollen or leaking battery, broken catches or an obstruction you cannot safely reach. Contact Dyson and keep the battery sealed.
  • Not sure — Save your observations and compare the matching manual before continuing.

Can you see loose dry debris in the detached wand or tool inlet?

  • Yes — Identify the end nearest the visible debris.
  • No — Use Trace weak suction if both openings look clear.
  • Not sure — Save your observations and compare the matching manual before continuing.

Can it be removed without sharp tools, force or touching electrical contacts?

  • Yes — Beware of hidden sharp objects as you clear the accessible opening.
  • No — Leave deep, sharp or jammed debris for Dyson support.
  • Not sure — Save your observations and compare the matching manual before continuing.

4. Follow and record

Complete the checks before recording physical work. Follow steps in order.

  1. Disconnect both ends

With the charger disconnected and the machine cool, release the wand from the body and the floor head from the wand. Keep the trigger untouched.

Look for: The wand is separate from powered components.

Manual: p12 Looking for blockages; Blockages – automatic cut-out; p8 Stubborn blockages
  2. Find the restriction

Inspect each wand end and the detached head inlet under good light. Record where the debris is visible.

Look for: Do not mistake a clear wand for a clear body inlet.

Manual: p12 Looking for blockages; Blockages – automatic cut-out; p8 Stubborn blockages
  3. Remove reachable dry debris

Carefully free only the visible, safely reachable obstruction. Watch for sharp material and avoid driving debris farther into the passage.

Look for: Stop if access needs force, a sharp tool or electrical contact handling.

Manual: p12 Looking for blockages; Blockages – automatic cut-out; p8 Stubborn blockages
  4. Inspect the passage again

Look through the wand and recheck the inlet. If either remains obstructed, leave the machine stopped and ask Dyson for help.

Look for: Both inspected passages look clear before reassembly.

Manual: p12 Looking for blockages; Blockages – automatic cut-out; p8 Stubborn blockages
  5. Restore every part

Reconnect the wand and head securely, with both dry filters and the clear bin fitted.

Look for: All release catches hold normally.

Manual: p11 Vacuuming; Washing the filters; p12 Looking for blockages
  6. Record the pickup check

Try brief normal use on a suitable dry surface. Record pickup and any returned pulsing; stop and contact Dyson if the symptom continues.

Look for: A remaining problem belongs in the record rather than repeated restarts.

Manual: p11 Vacuuming; Washing the filters; p12 Looking for blockages

5. Keep your result

Record what you observed. A completed checklist does not certify that equipment is repaired.
